Songwriting musician Peter Block announces album "A New Beginning"
Singer, songwriter and composer Peter Block offers a classic display of harmonious melodies with the release of his contemporary album, "A New Beginning." Co-produced by the legendary musician Richie Cannata, "A New Beginning" is a unique experience of memorable ballads and uptempo tunes. Appealing largely to the contemporary audience, Peter Block perfectly fuses elements of the highest level of vocal talent and blends it with a big band rocking and soaring to create a soundtrack of compositions for all to enjoy. "Of all the artists that I have worked with, Peter Block is the best project I’ve ever worked on in my entire career," said Cannata.
Influenced by Broadway shows at a very young age, Peter began learning the piano on his grandfather’s 1926 Steinway piano. This eventually heightened his interest in composing music and lead him to take singing lessons. A native New Yorker, he has performed in Manhattan at venues such as Catch a Rising Star, Dangerfield’s, and Improvisation, opening for such greats as Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, and Jerry Seinfeld.
About Peter Block
His grandfather, who loved watching Broadway shows, influenced Peter from a very young age. He would write a graph of his own musical language on the playbill that he made up in order to remember the songs while watching the show. He would then go home and play the songs with the best harmonic and chord substitutions one could imagine, all from his ear. After his grandfather passed, Peter inherited his 1926 Steinway piano on which he received lessons on and began writing at a young age. Peter developed the ability to compose and till this day still owns his grandfather’s 1926 Steinway piano.
