HBCU Records artists announce development deals with Curb Records

Earlier this month, Bethune-Cookman University’s (B-CU) student-run HBCU Records announced the official launch of the label and new music from its artists L. Paul Jackson, Jr. and DJ DGlove. Formed in 2015 by the Mike Curb Music Business, Entertainment & Sports Institute (Curb Institute), HBCU Records is now proud to announce that both artists have been offered artist development deals with Curb Records.

Following the buzz surrounding the forthcoming release of their debut singles: DJ DGlove’s track, "Good Time" featuring Curb Records recording artist Larry Gordon and L.Paul Jackson, Jr’s "Champion", both acts will sign on with Curb Records.

HBCU Records' President Pam Browne says that Curb Records will sign her two artists to development deals and release the two singles on Curb Records this summer.

"This is so amazing and exactly what we hoped for. HBCU Records was established to provide students at Bethune-Cookman University with music industry experience involving writing, recording, performing, making music videos and marketing. Our goal was to find great student-artists, develop them and hope that a major label would want to sign them to their roster. We're just so pleased for our artists that it happened this soon."

Now that Curb Records is signing the artists, the single release dates will be rescheduled for this summer. Both Paul and DJ DGlove are counting their blessings and trying to grasp the magnitude of realizing their lifelong dreams of becoming recording artists.
