The Indian American artist infuses her latest single "Never Understood" with introspective imagery and a haunting melody that evokes feelings of uncertainty and longing love can inspire.
"Love has always been a complicated part of my life. I wrote this song when I was questioning everything about love and my journey in love - the complexities, the vulnerabilities; the pain and the glories. Hence the title "Never Understood". The song is dedicated to all the lovers who have been through a similar journey and still believe in Love," says SuriLee about the journey that led her to "Never Understood".
In the video "Never Understood" slow-motion imagery contributes to a dreamy feel. Long shots add to the contemplative mood of each scene and support the introspective lyrics and SuriLee’s soulful vocals.
The talented crew behind the music video includes director Ganesh Konar, assistant director Aishwarya Singh and executive producer Chirag Thakkar. Behind the camera, director of photography Aniket K. and assistant director of photography Kunal Paradkar brought life to the otherworldly imagery. Makeup and Hairstylist Bhuvnesh Jain and wardrobe stylist Style Experts provided SuriLee’s look. Faraz Khosa and Hassan Omer from Infinity Musicworks shaped the video with their expert editing skills.

SuriLee is a singer, lyricist, composer, and producer currently living in Fremont, CA. She grew up in Mumbai, India and came to the US when she was 18. She attended the University of Baltimore, where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting. From an early age, she sang Bollywood hits to friends and family, who always requested an encore. Trained in Hindustani classical music, SuriLee’s true musical style combines her musical origins with modern Pop and R&B.
