GentleBeatz is an artist and producer currently residing in Mozambique. His style can best be categorized as lo-fi hip-hop/chill-hop. His ability to tie in musical components including Jazz, Reggae, Hip Hop, Soul, Blues, EDM, RnB, Folk, Indie, and World enable him to create a distinct sound.
His latest project, "Soul City" is set for release on December 31. Through eight tracks, GentleBeatz takes listeners to places they’ve never been. An emotional journey from broken-hearted to healed, from sadness to happiness, there are multiple interpretations for listeners at different points on their path. One might hear a love story while another might hear a story of self-discovery. No matter where you are on your journey, "Soul City" has got something for everyone. Available later this month, the project will be available for streaming on Soundcloud, Spotify, iTunes, and Bandcamp.
Inspired by Bob Marley, Nina Simone, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Nujabes, Azagaia, Asa, Nneka, Idealism, and Jhfly, GentleBeatz started his musical career in 2011 as a hobby. Now, as a full-time creator, he is aiming to perfect his signature harmonic sounds that provide listeners with a soothing, therapeutic safe space.
