Drawing inspiration from Zouk, a popular dance music originating from several islands like Cape Verde, and Kompa, an upbeat, merengue-influenced style of dance music originated in Haiti, “Mr. Shane” marks a new era for Shaney Poo’s sound.

The EP covers a variety of topics, but it centers around a message of hope and positivity for a better world. While making the album, Shaney Poo often listened to Prince, one of his many musical inspirations.
