Tucked away in the suburbs of Katy, Texas, a young talent has been quietly putting in the work — and this summer, it’s all about to pay off. ThomasTommyGRamirez isn’t your average teenager. While most are planning pool parties and video game marathons for their summer vacation, TommyG is packing his bags for not one but two well-regarded performance opportunities in New York City that could catapult his budding career to new heights.

TommyG’s journey began well before any spotlight found him. His musical path started in primary school, where he showed a passion for singing, participated in talent shows, and even volunteered to sing during school assemblies. During the isolated days of COVID, when many kids were trying to manage remote learning, TommyG requested additional singing classes with his teacher, showing the kind of initiative that separates the casual from the committed.

Before heading to New York, TommyG capped off the school year with a standout performance of "Die with a Smile" at his school’s May pop show. The reception from students and staff alike confirmed what many already know — he’s got the stage presence and voice to command any room.

The young performer, who caught attention with his 2024 releases “Good Life Lovin’” and “SIO,” has been selected to participate in the elite NYC Musical Theater Summer Intensive at the legendary Joffrey Ballet School this June. But that’s just the opener—come July, he’ll be performing as part of a global band at the 4th Annual Come Together Festival hosted by Kids Rock for Kids (KRFK).

The Joffrey Ballet School is no small accomplishment—it stands as one of the world’s premier dance institutions, and securing a spot in their summer intensive program is a coup even seasoned performers would envy. Each week of the program will immerse TommyG in the worlds of Broadway classics and contemporary hits, learning choreography and songs inspired by productions like “The Lion King,” “Wicked,” “Boop,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” and “Smash.”

The program offers an intensive experience, centered on elite-level instruction designed to shape TommyG into a well-rounded, professional-caliber performer. With training in dance, acting, singing, and audition preparation, it provides the kind of multi-disciplinary foundation that turns rising talent into triple-threat performers — the kind producers notice. For a young artist already gracing Opry stages across Texas, it’s the perfect next step.

But the summer heats up even more on July 6 to 13 when TommyG joins forces with other talented young musicians from around the world at the Come Together Festival. While details about the band remain under wraps, the significance of this global platform can’t be overstated. Now in its fourth year, the festival has become a launching pad for emerging young musicians, giving them professional performance experience while connecting them with peers who share their passion and drive.

TommyG’s music career has already shown impressive momentum. His music video for “SIO” (“Shake It Off”), released in February 2024, demonstrates his natural comfort level in front of the camera—a skill that will undoubtedly serve him well during his summer in New York. His original track, “Good Life Lovin’,” released in July 2024, captures that quintessential summer freedom feeling with lyrics about beach days, nightlife, and living your own way. The catchy tune showcases his vocal range and performance charisma that belies his young age.

When not performing on grand stages, TommyG maintains the balance of normal teen activities, including his love for soccer and football. This grounding in both extraordinary opportunity and ordinary adolescence gives him an authenticity that resonates with fans.

When asked about influences on his musical path, TommyG has credited his dad for helping with many aspects of his career, his singing teachers for shaping his vocal abilities, and his sister who inspired him to sing - she would always sing in the car, which is when he realized singing was the career he wanted to pursue. This reveals the strong family foundation behind his success.

After his whirlwind New York summer, TommyG will return to Texas, where he’s already booked to perform traditional country classics at several Opry venues, interpreting songs from legends like Vince Gill, Zack Brown, and Chris Stapleton.

Will this summer of intense training and performance be the tipping point that launches TommyG from local talent to national attention? Could this Texas teen with an infectious smile and powerful vocals be the next big name in the music industry? Only time will tell, but anyone who’s heard him sing knows the kid’s got that special something—the X-factor that can’t be taught.
