Trevor the Trashman debuts "The Other Side" album single
Produced by rising music producer Nate Fox, “The Other Side” is a true to life story that many indie artists can relate to. It captures the mindset of a talented artist living his dream but not without the typical frustrations and setbacks many emerging artists experience.
Trevor explains the creative process behind The Other Side:
"I wrote The Other Side about feeling a lot of pressure to quit music - that I had been struggling along for years and not feeling enough love to keep it going. And music is the only thing keeping me away from the other side of working in something that I'm not passionate about."
"I'm frustrated with the business behind music and how much control the labels still have over the landscape, how people act like snakes to get into the spotlight, and how you need to know someone and be endorsed for people to give you a shot. I'm making music that matters and the difference is clear to me. There's a lot of crap out there and I just want my shot."
Trevor the Trashman’s new album, Hell Yeah | I Want It All is due out March 25and will be available on iTunes. He’s gearing up for several promo dates this spring in support of the new effort and currently promoting the album at SXSW where he’ll be performing in 119 x Special Executive’s showcase on March 14.
About Trevor the Trashman
Born and raised in Chicago, Trevor the Trashman began writing rhymes at the age of 12. In high school he met fellow classmate Benny Nice and began recording songs in his basement, under the name Philosopher Stone. Eventually The Wiggidies Crew was formed. With 8 core members and frequent guests, they recorded hundreds of songs from 2004-2008.
Since then Trevor the Trashman has relocated from Chicago to Brooklyn. Trevor’s album Hell Yeah I Want It All showcases his maturity as an artist. For this album Trevor worked extensively with established producers like ASAP Mob’s P on The Boards, Nate Fox, Milo, The Vamp, and Roca Beats to cultivate a unique sound that allows him to shine lyrically. His last project, Embrace The Weird (2013) was an EP featuring the popular track, “Love You Down.”
