Reve Kalell announces new album "Genesis" slated to drop July 3rd

Denver lyricist releases a collection of visuals leading up to anticipated album release

Los Angeles, CA - June 14, 2018 -- "Genesis," the new 12-track album from artist and human rights activist Reve Kalell has both a story and a message. Kalell has never shied away from speaking his political beliefs and worldview through music, and "Genesis" bears that out. Slated to debut July 3rd, fans will have the perfect tunes to go along with their Fourth of July celebration.

Through the album, Kalell tells listeners the story of an educated but radical anti-hero coming to grips with the necessity of his own death in the scope of the revolution, and that love is all we need to find peace as a society. Old school hip hop, new school trap, EDM, and rock combine to provide a sound that will appeal to a broad range of listeners, from hip-hop fans to rock aficionados.

The first track, "Rap Jesus", starts with the lyrics "Imma come back from the dead just to save you again," setting the tone for the rest of the album. The story continues to unfold, weaving a tale laden with emotion and rich with theme. Tracks like "Expect Us," and "Last Supper"  will keep listeners on the edge of their seat.

"Genesis" will be available on iTunes, Spotify, and Tidal along with other major music platforms.

The "Expect Us" music video, directed by Leland Schmidt, shows the album’s protagonist ready to do battle and start a revolution. A challenge and warning to the rich and powerful are issued alongside a powerful and intense beat. Violence in schools, income inequality and terrorism are all addressed with sharp lyrics.

A music video for "This Ain’t Even on The Album," an excellent track that didn’t make the cut, is currently available. In the video, Kalell unleashes his musical prowess at a supermarket. "My reputation's my resume" Kalell raps straight into the camera. Watch it here.

Kalell has been busy promoting "Genesis" with a series of shows with recent performances in Atlanta, Denver, and Detroit. He’ll also be performing at The Celebration Hip Hop Show in Wounded Knee, South Dakota on June 25th. More music videos from "Genesis" will be released soon, look for "Acid Rain" on June 26th.
