Earlier this month, Mary released her cover of “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers. The cover, released coincidentally on the same day as his passing, was her tribute to the legendary singer. Her personal connection to the song and the fact that she shares Rogers’ Texas roots adds a sentimental touch to the cover.

Mary McGuinness is a Los Angeles based artist and is of Korean and Irish descent. Although she started out in opera and musical theatre — even taking her talents to Broadway — Mary has been working under another project, touring extensively throughout the U.S. and releasing four albums. She has supported acts such as TRAIN, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Shawn Colvin, and Kenny Loggins. Born in Ft. Hood, Texas, as the daughter of a military father, she regularly taps into her southern roots expertly combined with the culmination of her life experience in order to write her music.
